Yo! I picked up some of these and have them mounted on some kores to be a superlight spring touring ski, my question is this: how strong are these bindings? I'm not a big guy, I only weigh around 145, should I worry about them breaking if I ski them hard? I'm not gonna be hitting big cliffs or tricks on these but should I ride more cautiously than normal? I ride my dins at an 8 normally if that matters....thanks!
Typically you want to be in the middle of your din range on bindings but I’ve skied a 10 din on squires and never had a problem for the longest time. I would say as long as you aren’t gonna really push the limits of them you should be fine but obviously get them checked out to see if they can handle the abuse and use at your own caution.
I've been impressed by how well the alpinist can ski, that toe design is bomber. However, the function for using all the different risers is a PITA. You have to spin the heel two different ways to make use of everything and if you have the brake version it's not the most intuitive design to get the brake to stay up. The Backland/MTN/Tracer tour from Amer companies is far superior for an ultralight option.
