Edge issue on rails

Okay NS, hear me out. This is driving me insane.

So, I got some revolt 95s and I’ve been riding them at my local park. I tried hitting them on the tubes with new edges. That was fine until I tried a 270 out and I caught the inside of my back edge and slammed super hard. I grabbed an edge tuner, took the file out and and tried to hand file the edges down. Felt okay but when I hit this one rail I just stuck like crazy. I’m talking flail the arms, jump off the rail and land with chest parallel with ground at 90 degree angle and try to land it.

So then I grabbed a coarse file, gummy stone and extra fine diamond stone. When I returned to the park. I was like “okay I’m chilling” but these other rails are a little stickier. Then it gets worse and worse. And I’m like “wtf”. So now I’m noticing I’m tilting my front foot at an angle and it’s like the inside edge of my front foot grinding on the rail (and sometimes outside edge of back foot). So now I’m like “fuck have I always done that? I don’t even know.”

For reference: my last skis were detuned at a shop so edge catching was not an issue. Also, I MIGHT have played it conservative with the detune initially but I didn’t think it needed to be particularly aggressive.

Is it normal to ride hard on the inside edge of your front ski or am I totally in my head because I’m so headfucked about catching an edge now? Do I need to just detune hard as hell?
Does anyone have any tips?

I’m stuck on the tubes and I feel like a dork skipping the rails in between the tubes

I don’t know too much detail in this story, but I followed this guide for my Vs and it worked perfectly. Try to get a third angle on your edges

Wow ok so last year I inherited a pair of brand new Revolt 95s and had this same exact problem. I took a file to them before I took them out and detuned the shit out of them. When I went to ski them I was catching edges badly. I couldn’t hit rails at all. I’ve never had this problem with any other ski. I got caught on a flat bar and I got pissed as fuck and went full scorched earth on them. I dragged them over to a nearby Boulder and started frantically scraping the edges off of the Boulder. People were skiing past me looking at me like I was a crackhead. A few people even stopped and asked me wtf I was doing. I scraped them off the rock for like 20 minutes straight. They were a lot better after that but they STILL caught way more than I expected. At that point I was fucking pissed. I ended up going home and taking the bindings off of them. I sold them to a family friend who doesn’t ski park and I will never use Volkl skis again.

I always keep my downhill edge angled slightly up or with little to no pressure on it

I didn't think this was bad lol and I can ski rails just fine

a lot of volkl/line/k2 skis come railed as fuck from the factory, bring em in for a base grind and detune and youll be fine

Yea I heaaaaaaavily detune anything I'm going to hit rails on, I've had a couple good diggers from fresh edges

grab a file and go to town on the edges underfoot, should be fine after. its possible the rails are also sticky but your skis are fine

I have a similar question but its more about the edges themselves. This is also the first season im detuning my skis myself and also the first season ive regularly been hitting aggressive kinks/waterfalls. The skis were brand new and i fully expect the edges to get chewed up over time. But im starting to see some pretty fat and inconsistent dents underfoot so im bugging that theyre gonna turn into edge cracks way sooner than i thought. Im thinkin i didnt go hard enough with the file but would detuning them further help at all with this or should i just accept these dents into my life?
