in atlanta, its kinda a custom for parents to give their kids some kind of reward for doing well on the SAT, do yall have this anywhere else? for instance my friend got a new system for his truck for getting a 1200.....

I get money and gifts for good marks, not a sound system, but alot of parents use gifts as motivation for their kids to do well. I was always paid based on how well I did in school. 5$ for and 80, 10$ for a 90 and I lost 2$ for anthing under 80. It motivated me and I do better than most of my peers.

if your parents have to promise you some kind of reward for doing well on the SAT, then there is something severely wrong with our society. doing well on these tests should bring its own rewards, in time.

ehh im taking the new test tomorrow and if i get a 2100 (700 on each section) my parents will pay for labor on some parts being installed in my car. Basically its impossible for me to get that score so its more motivation then anything.

NWofMidd they added another 800 point section for writing with an essay and everything so the test is out of 2400 now instead of 1600.
