There needs to be some crazy shit done this year, becuse skiing is getting stale. Alot of the stuff i saw in the movies this year was cool, but nothing like when i saw the older movies. I was talking to some snowboarders i work with and they are all talking about 'The white album', Sean Whites new movie. They are all about it, they are saying he is doing things that made them to want to stop snowboarding. I use to be like that after seeing a movie, but how much farther can we go? With the show at the the US open big air kinda supports what im saying. Anyone else feal this way?

i know exactly what you're saying. I think skiing needs an all around poster boy, pretty much like sean white. This used to be Tanner, but i dont think that people can or want to relate to him anymore for some reason. Someone like dumont would be awesome but just the way he acts doesnt really allow him to lead a sport to the level that it needs.

i think skiing will go the way of skateboarding and snowboarding before it. when all the tricks have been done, you find creative and stylish ways to do them.

i somewhat agree w/ misty 7. but i feel like comps. aside. the tricks in the videos are gettin much more stylish and techinical. i mean yea sure. u have ur basic stock tricks but everyone throws em diff. and with more and more parks over the US ur gonna see new rails/boxes/tricks be invented. redesigned

^ no, the thing is we cant do that. Skateboaring will allways be crazy. There are so many flip combos, flips to rails, ect... that it will allways be mindblowing. Snowboarind has so many diffrent grinds and presses. We have tail and nose press, and with people hateing on 1 foots so much we are basicly done.

well i really dont like misty 7, but yea... but that was only one big air comp... take a step back and look at all the progression in movies... like on urban rails last year, especially in High 5, and this year it will be the year of the big gabs and massive BC booters, because of all the snow...

Putting 15 year olds aside. Highfive had some good rails but it was allmost all the same. The dfd with the turn that Cody does was one of only urban that stands out to me. I want to see shit that will blow my mind, i have been much more impressed watching skateboaring movies then ski movies. I hope im wrong but over the past few years its been alot of the same.

i think that skiin will progress for sure but where its at right now is pretty damn impressive if u look at the fact that we have been doin our shit a lot less time than snowboardin;s been around..we'll get there..its just gunna take some time

i dunno, i was watching a couple snowboarding movies the other night at a bar, and they were fuckin sick. i dunno, they just seemed to have a different feel than ski movies. i liked it more, they were doin some crazy fun/creative things

At core games I saw a little kid from New Zealand Win my heat. My heat was f&%kn stacked too. I wouldnt worry about our sport...Once the groms start killing it, its all over for tanner and jon and all those old guys(Including myself in a couple years.)

i agree/disagree,
i dont think that the actual tricks being thrown will progress too much further from where it is now,
there is only so much rotation that can be done.
but the biggest tricks can be done over bigger gaps,
for examples the zero and swtich five over chads

also throwing tricks over more creative spaces
can also be done,
i want to see a zero spin through a fork of a tree... ect.

grinding has soo far to progress, much much harder rails can be done, and will.
also technical grinds can be taken to harder rails,
finally there is soo many tricks that can be done
that havents, switch ups to nosepress tailpress,
270 to a technical grind,
and spinning grinds and stuff,
which can be done on anything.

I dton think you realise how many possibilities there are. Imagine bs switchup a quad elbow kink urbn rail. Imagine nose butter to switch cork 7 opp mute in a big air comp. Imagine switch cork 5s landing past the landing at a big air comp yet still sticking it. There is a ways to go.

i think the tricks should just start getting into bigger gaps and stuff, like a 100 foot channel gap with 120 foot tables for the park. stuff like chads gap is cool too

You know,MikeE, it's just that butter tricks are HARD. Maybe progression will make people do them off huge big air jumps, but it's so fucking risky.
