Hi all,
Decided to finally pull the trigger on my first touring setup. Currently have on hand Fischer Hannibal 96's, Fischer Travers CS Boots, and Salomon Shift bindings.
I think I jumped the gun a bit on buying the bindings under the assumption they'd work with the Fischer boots. The issue I'm encountering, as many have, is trying to figure out if these bindings and boots will work together. I've read conflicting reviews/advice of some saying it will work just fine, while others have said it will not work due to a small toe welt, safety and etc.
At this point I'm just trying to make the logical choice for what to do. The boot seems to adhere to ISO 9523 standards based on what is written online, seems to fit ok in the binding, and proudly displays the TUV/SUD certification on the toe welt; which by my basic knowledge should indicate it meets the safety standards for an alpine binding. By all means not trying to use tech lingo I'm not very well acquainted with, so please feel free to correct me as necessary.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Not planning on charging super hard with this combo, it would just be great to have them work together.
EDIT: Would it just make more sense to return the Travers boots and pick up the Ranger Free 120 with the Dynafit inserts?
