What exactly counts as afterbang nowadays

Does it only count as afterbang if you land standing straight up with your hands at your hips, or is afterbang any steezy landing?

I think it’s kinda preference now days. But I do love some Tom Wally afterbang with the hands at the hips

I think there are many different types of landings on skis and “afterbang” is just a word to describe a specific type of landing. For ex. you can land boner comp style or like you just said the classic hands on hips method. Or you can land with swag arms or wacky inflatable tubeman arms which are closely related to afterbang but really, imo, different versions of it.

But anyways I think afterbang is specifically when you land and you rock a little with the hips lean back and just really bang it out. TWall swag baby

I personally consider afterbang to be any sort of rideaway where you add something extra to it, while staying in complete control. tom wallisch obviously has the most iconic examples. alex hackel and magnus have some nice ones too, such as the iconic lip 2 to sw dab on the quebec ledge.

I think most people do land their tricks properly. obviously i have no way to back that up, but that's my opinion. maybe we just watch videos of different skiers.

You're telling me that whenever Andri Ragetlli, or some similar skier, lands something clean then it should maybe be considered afterbang? idk about that
