What is the purpose of the k2 “snow” ski?

hi had a kid come in with a pair of those wanting to get them mounted, i asked him how long he had been skiing moguls and he literally had no idea, he had just bought them because he liked the graphic and they were cheap. Needless to say we managed to convince him onto something else.

I'd 100% buy those for mogul days if I had money and skied a lot.
If you hate moguls, you probably don't have good fundamentals or actual big mountain skill.

Funny how the more I progressed, the more I enjoyed moguls (along with the entire mountain, as opposed to just one aspect of skiing)

Don’t worry Dolan I agree because Mogul skis should be at least 100 waist so you can wheelie and plow right through the moguls. Those stupid mogul skiers have been turning for years fucking retards its a race just don’t be a pussy and plow straight down the course youd win every time.

Moguls > Groomers 100% of the time.
That being said, if it's a day when both the moguls and park are open, I'd rather work on park

idky there are people who don’t like moguls , especially with a little bit o soft. My 36 year old hips and knees and spine don’t like moguls, but I sure as hell do , so much fun when your cruising and air an unseen mogul. Now skiing moguls with shit form not knowing how to ski moguls, that’s not so much fun.

Skied with an old highschool buddy for the first time and he brought a pair of old hart bump skis. There was maybe 6in or so of windblown creamcheese all over the mountain. Dude was happy as a clam zipperlining bumps all day. Idk where I was going with this but the dude loved his bumps and I can respect that.

Mogul skis are just narrow, if its groomed/packed theyre just fine, hell I skied mogul skis in alot of conditions (comes with mogul training every weekend) Id always bring another pair of skis up to the mountain, but unless it was dumping snow or I was gonna ski rails, I just ripped my mogul skis.

I think a big part of improving your skiing ability is strengthening your quads. And mogul skiers can probably leg press 400 pounds.

I can do.... well a lot of pounds in legpress (been hitting gym for years + skiiing and I'm 215-220lbs) but.. thoose good mogul guys and racing alpine guys.. damn, makes me feel like a petite skinny guy when they hit the leg excercises. I have a buddy that asks me to sit on the leg sled as he cannot get enough weights at the gym. At least my weight can be used then.

IMO skiing is more the conditioning acquired from leg blasters and endurance than strength, though strength , even 1rm is a factor

For instance, always been a low rep power lifter . Can squat 400 to 90degrees for 10 reps for a few sets But my biggest skiing improvements came from increasing my 20rm and doing leg blasters, core strengthening and flexibility and playing on the trampoline

Def agree with that going low to save some backseat skiing. That’s imo my personal biggest weakness, next to air awareness.

I injured my groin/abdomen last March, dr didn’t give me a super good diagnosis so healing not going well and below 90 I’m just working on stretches and movement at this point as my core currently is poop
be careful powerlifting my dudes
anders_afor competiton you of course only goto 90, but I found that dropping way down, with a lighter load so you dont damage anything, has helped me get out of some pretty interesting ass on skis and way on your heels situations.

I will try 20 reps for next seasn, I've been at 10-12 always.

I got a buddy who only had his mogul skis for most of his first season not competing and just cruising around for fun and he would absolutely rip in his. We'd be bombing pow runs, dropping cliffs, and he'd just cruise through like no problem. You could never see his skis unless he was airborne but damn he ripped
