Optimal ski preparation for sand skiing?

So, where I live there are some pretty good sand dunes for skiing in the summer, I've been wanting to try it for a while and now I have some beat up skis and boots, so I plan on giving it a go.

How do i prepare my skis though? Wax or no wax? Or something else?

I have no experience sand skiing but you could try and give your skis a super thick wax. I would also dull down the edges a lot so you could kinda just make surfy turns. If you kept the edge, you might just catch and get bodied

We used some floor polish. Seemed to get some extra slide and could def tell when it wore off.

Prolly wax the fuck out of them too

Definitely dont wax.

Watch the TC video and do what we did with the formica. Without doing that you wont move fast at all.

I'd say get yourself some sandboard wax and go crazy with it. If you don't wax them you are likely to ruin your ski, or maybe you'll just make them very smooth.. let us know how it goes
