Hi folks, I’m looking for recommendations on all mountain twin tip skis. For next season.
I currently run Völkl ledge 179s from way back in 2013. I’ll be honest I didn’t do my research into skis at the time as I was young and it was my first pair so I jumped straight in with the ones I liked the look of. In all honesty I feel clumsy on them a lot of the time and I’m a bit fed up of them. Also in a sorry state of repair as snow coverage isn’t all that great in Scotland. I’ll still keep them for shredding the slopes at home because they have already taken a beating.
I mainly ski groomers but enjoy finding kickers on piste and aim to start proper park work and progress this building it up more and more. I’m not phased by off piste/powder so performance in these areas is not a concern.
I’m intermediate in ability and tend to fall right in the middle in terms of speed and turns. Not too quick and aggressive but certainly not slow.
I’ll be skiing Scotland when I get the chance due to poor conditions, indoor artificial slopes nearby and venturing out to Europe every year. Sierra Nevada will become a regular as I now have family living out there and will likely leave my gear over there.
Any advice on what to look for/search for in terms of ski length, tip/tail/waist widths, profile and binding set up are welcomed as I’ve tried to research the prefect fit but can’t find a definitive answer.
So I need a set that handle groomers well but will give me confidence in the park. Definitely more piste bias rather than park simply because of my beginner park level.
I’m 5’10” (177cm) and 175lbs (80kg). Aged 23.
Also being based in the UK ideally available in this market or overseas with low cost shipping.
Some I have been looking at are:
Armada ARV 96
Völkl revolt 95
Line chronic
Line blend
Nordica soul rider 97
Faction Prodigy 2.0 / 2.0X / PJ collab
Black crows camox
Black crows captis
K2 poacher
On3p jeffrey 96 (if I can get them shipped)
