Are Vishnu’s and ninthwards made in the DPS factory?
CatdickBojanglesThe factory that makes 2 or 3 of DPS' line up makes Vishnu. I think 9s are custom built in SLC now since they just make one ski and its made to order.
V's are made in the DPS factory, Emmet said it on out of bounds podcast http://outofpodcast.com/2019/01/08/e42/. If you look at the topsheet/sidewall construction on DPS they are the same as Vishnus. idk bout ninthwards though
fghtoffyrdmnsBut they’re made in salt lake now? Does ns have a factory in slc now?
i don't know if they're made in salt lake now. when dickie bought the company he drove to colorado to the neversummer factory and drove back with a car full of 30-50 new pairs of skis. i'm not sure if he changed the source as that was a couple years ago. haven't talked to him in a minute.
I find it fucking hilarious that Dps sells their skis for 3 times the Vishnu price when they come out of the manufacturer. DPS is really getting their profit, good on vishnu for keeping the markup low

Do you really think DPS and Vishnu skis are made of the same material....

i find it fucking hilarious you think that because skis are built in the same place, they use all the same materials and expect them to be priced the same

So you’re saying that the small differences in construction, different cores, different top sheet materials, and differences in layup are so much more expensive that the skis need to be priced that high? ski construction is different from company to company but not THAT different. If Stephan Drake was personally ejaculating on each core then the price might be more justified. But he isn’t, skis are skis. I don’t know what DPS is doing in their ski construction that makes the price so high. If you do please enlighten me

Not all DPS skis are made in China, some are made in SLC. They also have made some pretty sick skis that probably needed a lot of RnD. While it doesn’t cater to the NS crowd, the skis they have are sick for dads.

Dude. Materials (product cost) and time (payroll) to manufacture are the largest expenses a business pays. You can't tell me you'd expect a kia to be the same price as a mercedes because they're only slightly different.
