Hi! So happy to stumble on this site today and grateful for your advice.
I ski on these
(length 169) usually once a year for a couple days in a row:

I'm 5'7" and would call myself intermediate to advanced. At the time I purchased these skis about 4-5 years ago, I was getting more interested in the park and also doing more and more powder skiing versus the ice and groomers I grew up with on the east coast so wanted something fatter than my old carving skis. I've always also been a mogul skier although I don't look cool at all doing it - I enjoy the physical challenge.
I felt this would be a fun ski that would suit all my interests. I've recently gone on 2 trips with less than ideal conditions and found that the skis don't seem to grip at all on hard pack / groomers unless I get really super low and apply a lot of pressure. (Am I just being a lazy skier?) I also wonder if the length is too much. It is pretty difficult to maneuver hard packed moguls in these. And I also like to ski trees if there's powder.
I'll occasionally go over a small kicker but am skiing with a less adventurous crew and no longer pursuing the park.
Skiing powder... I have had no complaints with these.
Now - does any or all of my experience on these make sense to someone who knows skis?
1. Is it time for new skis?
2. what should I be looking for?
Appreciate you!!
Carey
