Cork 3 Strategy

This season I got comfortable floating 3s on big jumps without looking like I’m gonna die. I really want to learn to get corked since cork 3s have always been my favorite trick to watch. Is it possible to just start leaning harder into my takeoff carve and bringing up the outside leg and gradually start doing “corks” until I’m actually off-axis, or should I learn them on tramp somewhere next summer and just go for one first try then instead?

Even smarter, go to a tramp in the winter :o
if you live near a tramp park/gymnastics place at least.
Im sure you could learn them by slowly going more of axis and carving aggressively

I would think doing it on a tramp would be harder since a lot of the technique is in the takeoff. I was always taught to imagine you’re skiing up onto a wall, then just start looking over the inside shoulder for the landing and you should naturally uncork.

This tutorial teaches an incremental progression from 3 to cork 3, so you can start from a regular carved 3 on snow and go from there.

this is how I learned em. the hardest part is staying tucked until you come around cause the first few times it happens you're gonna want to spread out and bail. they're super easy though

Personally I dont like pole plants with any spin looks weird and unnatural. Trying wide safety or tweaked safety can set you into a baby cork rotation better then a pole plant.

that's basically what i did when i learned them, yeah

Dunderflipthe hardest part is staying tucked until you come around cause the first few times it happens you're gonna want to spread out and bail. they're super easy though

this x100. easiest way to mess them up is to get spooked halfway through, but they come around. just keep ducking into the spin and you're good. flex that core baby

this is another route i might suggest to them. a hand drag brings you right into the rotation
