OregonDeadThe fact that that kid took a swing with his Elan is pretty noteworthy. Potential deadly move I would think. Elan is known for their high quality construction

I once was witness to the collision of two adult tantrums in a powder panic situation in the lift line. Guys were way out there trying to start shit with different people in different lines in the maze that merged together and ultimately they collided and both took each other's bait and almost instantly were arguing about a beer can and then someone put it in someones pocket or something. I ended up riding up the lift with one of the guys and even explained to him that if it were me I would just ski away. It was super early season of course and the guy was wearing his lanyard with his season pass around his neck and the lifty at the bottom had already told him that he had to get off the lift a new man or be trespassed from the ski area on account of his BS so far. Of course he responded with a whole tirade of reasons why he could not let this stand without challenging the other man to a duel. Other dude was waiting at the top strapping in to their boards and this guy started yelling about how they needed to meet up in the wood by the boyscout cabin. I was like oh wow and after my run skied up to a mountain ops guy with a radio and heard they had a brawl and both groups like 7 people or something ended up getting passes pulled and trespassed after they were found to be all on the ground wrestling in a pile
theLiquorThis is so relevant to Saturday. So much of people talking out of the corner of their mouths just being bitches in the lines. I hate powder days for that exact reason everything about it is so toxic. People drive on I70 like crazy assholes cutting eachother off hoping to arrive five minutes earlier, to then sit in hour long lines
Shittiest part about skiing is you don’t know who you’re getting into a fight with. Not that you have to worry about getting in a fight with an actual professional fighter—more like lawyers. A lot of people are successful and rich because they do have self control, but you have to remember there are actually a lot of people who are rich from suing, scamming, etc.
If I didn’t have friends in the Vail valley and ones who fly out, honestly I don’t know if I’d ski anymore. Not in Colorado at least—I’m looking for an excuse to call it quits I feel like my will is hanging by a thread. I miss Minnesota skiing
holytoastCheba huts gone so theres no safe haven to avoid massive frat bro gatherings at Petes.
