Do you view doctors who refuse to hook up patients with painkillers as cowards?

The doctors who have played hard to get with opioid pain killers i feel are cowards and doctors that hook it up are ballers.

the coward doctors are all like “your not going to make me your drug dealer”

while the heroic doctors are like “im your friend and im going to give you what you want.

who cares if the patient becomes an addict. Im on methadone and im happy as fuck. I only go twice a month to get my doses. Its a minor inconvenience, just like picking up a script at the pharmacy.

Yeah lets support doctors over-prescribing opioids so that more people can become addicted and switch to heroin and OD. Opioids should be very, very restricted. When I had collarbone surgery, my doctor wrote me a script for 90 pills, i used barely half of them. I had a second surgery a couple months later and he tried to give me 90 more! i was like ya dude i have a bunch from my last one, why would i need 90 more? The only thing you can do with extra opioids is sell them or eat them, both are bad outcomes.

You gotta understand that many people live better happier lives with a little opioid boost everyday.


I do understand that some ppl dont care much for the opioid euphoria, but many people do.

if you milked peoples endorphins after they worked out in a gym and bottled the endorphins and sold them, addicts would feel no difference between that and the opioids they usually take. Endorphin means “endogenous morphine” because endorphins and opioids do the exact same thing to your bodys opioid receptors. So if opioids are fundamentally bad then so is exercising.

good luck convincing people that exercising is bad...

you make a good point and i agree addiction is harmful to many peoples lives.

my only argument is that it doesnt have to be harmful or life-ruining. You need active drug policy that maintains addicts like Heroin assisted treatment (HAT) like they have in germany switzerland holland england and denmark and now canada, or methadone clinics like in the us

harm reduction works better than trying to cut off the supply. Many people need opioids. Im one of them.

Fuck painkillers, I think doctors should be prescribing alcohol because it does kill the pain. I don't care what anyone says. There's no reason for opioid pain medication in a world where hard liquor runs like water.

Alcohol destroys your liver over time while opiates dont harm your liver at all. Theres many geriatric age addicts who have used opiates for decades, but if you wanted to abuse alcohol as much as an addict can safely use opiates your going to eventually get cirrhosis and need a liver transplant to live. Alcohol sucks if you are a binge user type person.

That's the worst getting a doctor that's a tight wad with the pain pills ,just need to know how to play the game by not mentioning pain pills then eventually they'll loosen up. The world would be a better place if they would just dish them out freely without worrying about getting in trouble. Theres too many people in this world as it is so so what if the stupid ones cant handle their narcotics and die . Their ruining it for the rest of us who are either in pain or just like to get fucked up.

Eheath i like you but your talking out of your ass. One of the endorphins your body releases during exercise or injury is the molecule morphine itself. If your own body produces morphine, how can it be good for you when your body releases it and bad for you when it comes from a plant? Obviously you will mention the amount which is a fair consideration. But there isnt any difference between your body’s morphine and the poppy plants morphine. Thats not how chemistry works.

opiates by themselves do not cause significant harm. Its the lifestyle that comes with addiction that is unhealthy; living on the street, poking your veins full of holes. Yeah thats bad but opiates are just the messenger. The addiction lifestyle is what does harm. Thats why harm reduction works better than abstinence.

This is harsh but i tend to agree with you. If you arent cautious enough when putting substances in your body and you die its not the dealers fault, its your fault. I dont want people to die tho, and we need to give enough drug education to adolescents that when they become adults and choose to experiment they know enough to do things safely.
