I made an iOS app called Swift Volume that changes your music volume based on your speed (doesn't matter if you're using Spotify, Apple Music, etc.). It makes it easy to talk with your friends at the bottom of a run or on the side of the hill.

Would love any feedback that fellow skiers have. Reviews are also welcome. Only for iPhone right now but will be posting one for Android soon. https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/swift-volume/id1490966335

Sick idea, I only skied once with music and it got me real hyped up, but just on one ear cause I’d like to hear everything around me too.

There was an app that did this like 5 years ago. Phone tech has gone a long way so hopefully yours is better. This one would crank on the lift and i wish there was a chairlift mode that could tell your going up at a steady pace. That one was cool but when i was skiing with the homies and stopping at every few features it was to much stop and go with the music. Hope yours is better! Gonna download now!!

Chairlift mode is a great idea, I was going to add that type of "uphill" sensor. Look forward to your feedback

Biggest question.... How much battery is this gonna use? Can it piggyback off of a ski tracking app to not use much more battery because GPS is already running? When used by itself will it burn power like a ski tracking app or less?

Just some things to consider. Fantastic idea though.

ConesForBreakfasMaybe make it a threshold type thing? Like around 15 mph. So going slow and chairlifts still is quiet and you don't get less/more volume while you lose speed going off jumps and gain speed on landings. Also I understand working with different platforms is hard but when's it coming to the Play Store?

Me too? There’s an accessory you can get that loops @the ear and attaches to the AirPods ! Works great!

For real though, I feel like this app could seriously improve ones ability to ski. Ski a run and keep the volume at a high consistent level

I’ve never had an issue. I put them on under my balaclava and they stay put.

naw that's not weird at all. it's just luck re: how well the airpod shape fits you. my dad can't keep one in his ear, i ski, run, hike, and eat shit wearing mine and they don't come out. you just don't happen to have the shape of ear that it fits best. ive tried other brands that i can't keep in my ear
