Hey guys, I treated myself the brand new ARV 96, since then I have skied them about 6 days. It is my first pair of skis so I’m wondering if scratches are normal. What you can’t see on the pictures are base scratches, not deep but noticeable I also had to fix one of the skis top sheet. Im wondering what to do since I will ski them another 14 days and I’m planning to sell them after that.
also Im to riding too hard, put them through jumps and boxes not more.

Also did you ride your rentals in the park? Rentals are built with more durable material because literally 100's of people will ride them every year and not give a single shit about them so they need to last. Its acceptable for them to be heavy and slow.
It’s best to fill any deep scratches with ptex, also a good tune is a good idea every 5-6 trips i’d say. Also wax will keep you from sticking to the snow, help ya go faster.
ha. op thats nothing. i ride a super rocky resort with minimal snowfall. i have gouges twice as big and deep, all over the bases of ALL my skis. nothing a little ptex and base grind cant fix.
I work at a ski shop and have skied for years. I would even call this "real Damage", just put ptex on the base and duct tape on the top sheet. or just not do that and you'll still be perfectly fine.
