I dunno man, it sure is a good live distro to have on hand, but unless 95% of your day is spent pen testing I don't really see the point in running Kali as your everyday distro.
Not even his desktop btw, he obviously grabbed that screenshot off Google.

I don't use it often at all, but I've had a lot of fun with it in the past. And ya I thought the cap looked a little suspect

Honestly though it's so easy to partition a hdd and dual boot it though. I dual booted it in my last laptop but I found it was easier to make a live USB of it. I have like 5 live USB sticks each with a bootable distro I can run for different purposes.
