Is the «Midsole» mark on the K2 sight the same as Fabric recommended?

You can mount the ski anywhere in that range. 0 is Center and the back is 7.5 back or way to far back for most people. The arrow represents where k2 think the ski will “ski” the best but you most certainly don’t need to go there. If it’s used mainly for park and your son prefers a Center mount go with that. That is where I had mine. If it’s more an all mtn ski then the recommended arrow may be a good choice. But it’s up to you guys you can mount anywhere on the scale.

Oh, thank you. Great answer. He is 70/30 in the mountain/park, so I think i will stick to the fabric recommended. 7,5 cm back seems way too far back. And Core center seens to be dead center, is not going to work for him... So, should the middel of the boot (that is marked with a fine line) meet the line form the arrow on the ski then? When he has the boot in the binding?

Yeah you got it if you go for the recommended mount the middle of the boot will line up with the arrow when in the bindings. Hope he enjoys them.

Thank you, this was very helpful! My local guy had never noticed the midsole mark on the flat side. just the scale on the side.. and he recommended «traditional» (+7,5 cm from Core..) I said no, thats too far back, and then he said «okay, i can mount it plus 3 cm if your son is that kind of demanding «professional»...» And then I asked if he could show me on the ski where the boot would end up... he used some kind of a standard scale and said «here» - leaving the midsole mark on the boot exactly at the «traditional» mark on the ski (7,5 cm). Looked like a carving ski... I asked him again If he was sure he added 3 cm.. and he was. I pointed at the midsole mark on the boot, and said «shouldnt this end up at + 4,5 cm on this scale (pointing at the scale on the side of the ski...) And then he called me no stupid, and I got so confused i didnt dear to mount them there :)

Haha sounds like a good old school shop. You can mount anywhere you like though but 7.5cm is quite far back for sure. T he traditional point will be good for sure.

But now im just totally confused. I read these binding tips from K2 ... and I just dont understand. Midsole on the 19/20 K2 sight is NOT 7,5 cm from center... its about 4 and marked with a pink arrow at the front.. not on the side. Are these tips old? Black :) all Black. Last year they were orange/brown colored with lots og drawings. maybe this years version is upgraded? Maybe that was why my local guy didnt recognize the midsole-line on the front 😅? Should I still go with the midsole mark (app 4 cm back from 0) and make it match with the midsole mark of the boot?

So the scale on the side just gives all the options. The recommended could be confusing. For all mtn I would go +3-4.5cm from the back of that scale. So somewhere 4.5-3cm from Center will be perfect. But don’t overthink it. In general somewhere in the middle of that scale for all mtn will work well.
