Remount Problems

Hey guys I really need some advice. So I bought some used Nordica Enforcers 93 at 193cm. They had already been already mounted so I needed to get them remounted to my boots. I rarely do park and never hit rails so I wanted to get them mounted at the recommended line. I picked them up and realized that my boots are set about 1.59cm too far forward. I’m guessing they did that because they can’t drill the new holes too close to the old ones?? Either way this really bothers me that’s it’s off (I’m a little OCD.)

Anyways, how much is this going to effect my skiing? Is this a substantial amount or am I worried about nothing?

OP you'll be fine. What bindings? Did the shop not communicate what they were doing? You can ask them about it.

Thanks! I was having trouble finding that number.

I have the Salomon Warden MNC 13 bindings.

And nope they did not tell me that they were going to mount it like that or why. I was planing on going in there and getting my money back and having them remount it for free but now i think that if they would have moved the fixed toe piece to the correct spot it would have been too close to the old holes. I’m no expert though nor do I know how close is too close.

I' ve heard absolute bare minimum is 7-8mm space between holes with 1cm considered safe, assuming the old holes are filled and sealed properly.

Just cruise down to the shop and be nice. Ask them if they made a mistake or if that was the closest they could get to recommended mount point with the existing holes? They may help you out somehow, a refund on the mount, some free shopwork in the future or something else. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Lol please don't ask for it for free, most likely it's not dead set recommended because of the previous mount. You won't notice a difference

That’s what I’m thinking man. But if some shop screws up to the point of a remount being needed I’m for sure asking the the remount for free. I mean they are supposed to be professionals and holes obviously devalue the ski.

I completely understand your point most shops are small businesses that aren't exactly raking in cash these days but in my opinion this issue could have warranted a phone call to say " hey, we're not going to be able to mount these on the line because of overlap with the previous mount. Do you want to look at a different binding, move forward or back?" It's simple customer service. Or it was an error which someone should know about at the shop.

why do people always think they can just get it for free.. you bought used skis and now you are upset that they did the best they could to get it close to recommended because it was already mounted. if anything it's slightly forward giving you more tail by 1.59cm that you will never even notice when skiing. Given the length of that ski and where the recommended line is, going forward if anything will just balance the ski some.

Did you buy them from the shop? Have you spent any money at this shop on gear?
