thepastapalaceYou don't your money back, just a shiny new cert. Its worth it for pro deals though
DingoSeanCan't you just get a job on a mountain as an entry level instructor? and they'll set you through your course progression?
I mean that's what I did..
Jeewoo_14I know that on the mountain on which I wish to take the CSIA level 1 course, the fee for the course is $400 CAD. I've heard somewhere that you get your money back if you pass the course. I know it doesn't make sense but $400 does seem like a lot of money. Can anyone confirm this please?

-arc-Well to dispell any rumours, no you don't get your money back. You're probably too late to get a job at any of the resorts as most of them hired ages ago. However, ask around and if any of them are still looking, they'll probably be semi keen to give you a job after you do your level one.
Anyway, your level 1 is a great course and it provides a great frame work for thinking about your own and others skiing. Good luck!
skiP.E.I.In Canada you have to be certified as an instructor before you can get even an entry level instructing job. At many resorts in the rockies they won't even consider your resume unless you have CSIA level 2 minimum.
Jeewoo_14I've already got a winter job this year but I'm looking to take the course this year. Thanks for the response though!
P.S. Still haven't mounted those 4FRNT skis I asked you about last year haha. Will be doing that within a few days
Jeewoo_14What do you mean by pro deals??
