Smart ski bindings - Research for university project

Hi ski fanatics, hope that you are as stoked for the upcoming season as we are!

I am sorry if this is not the appropriate place for this asking.

In the meanwhile we need your help with a bit of research about our project for the Entrepreneurship class we are taking. If you could answer the questions in this survey as honestly as possible we will really appreciate it!

Most of the time it is a lot of work hahah. But you meet a lot of cool people and there are a lot of fun projects outside you that you can do. I got to really love Switzerland in general as well. I would recommend it!

I mean the benchmark to beat if you're sampling this forum is the Look Pivot. I'd pay what I currently pay for pivot 18's if I had an equally durable binding with the same elasticity and reliability but easily replaceable brakes. I don't eject switch very often but man does it suck mangling a brake and then having to pull the entire heel piece off.

boot fitter chiming in here. Your product already exists. It is called carve. It is a insole that goes inside of your ski boot that provides all of the information you are trying to build a product for. From a design standpoint I would think a product in your boot rather than on the binding would be more reliable and durable, and would make more sense because you can already add it to your existing set up.

I read about a peanut butter cup sized device two years back that attaches to your ski in free skier mag
it does pretty much everything u listed

Look and Salomon probably have the longest running binding platforms that definitely work. The sth2 is definitely another binding worth looking at when figuring out what a good binding does well and not so well. Not even the pivot can release a boot right out the side, which the knee binding does well, though it seems to have a pretty tall stack height. I like the kingpins heel afd with rollers around the heel. Plenty of good bindings out there that have pros and cons that an "ideal binding" would have all of. Compromises will still need to be made.
