Shaving your calves

You think it would help with comfortability if you shaved almost everything below your knee cap for ski boots? It always seems that my leg hair gets super irritated after half a day of skiing, especially when it’s warmer out and my boots get a little more wet on the inside.

Just use Nair

If you shave it's just going to have stubble in a day and will likely be more irritating.

Apparently if you really pull on your ski socks when you put them on it will cause the hairs to stick upwards and might feel like shin bang. Every time I put my socks on I very slightly push them down towards my toes so the hairs stay flat. Sry I think I did a really shit job explaining that

Yeah OP all the pro's shave their legs to help with boot feel and speed. You should really do it if you're serious about your skiing

I knew a dude who shaved his shins/calves every season to prevent irritation and he claimed it prevented shin bang too, seemed to work for him

Yes it does help. Use Nair like stated above, it cuts down on the shaving and the risk of cuts and other irritations. Be prepared for the hair to grow back a little thicker so it helps to keep trimming them with clippers with a guard. Old skool shit here.

use better wicking socks and be sure to dry your boots out after each day by taking the liners out.

Works for me, but I just trim them. No need to fully shave/epilate.

I actually just Nair’d my legs about 8 inches up from my foot, I always got goofed on by my friends for shaving where my boots are but I feel like it helps keep the shin pain at bay. If you notice, at the end of the season, the hair on your shins is thin. Just means your hair is getting pulled out. Nair is better than shaving because it doesn’t leave as much stubble as shaving, and no razor burn/cuts.

I literally don't shave my hair in the winter and have never noticed a difference.

If anything, the sock directly on your skin will be more irritating.

Got hairy legs (blonde but still) && can can confirm it is the best for boot comfort
