ChrisMcCandlessI'd go with whatever your boot fitter thinks is best.
gungonI've visited a couple shops actually. I went to REI and they fitted me with a Track 130. After wearing them around the house, I realized they're too big. The fitter at REI seemed kind of lackadaisical. I went to a more local shop, who actually carried both boots. He sounded like he knew more and actual wanted me to find a boot that fitted properly. I'll probably end up getting the atomics for that reason. REI guy just kinda threw me in a boot and wanted me on my way.
CabbyArrantI cringed a little when you said you got fitted at REI. I would usually suggest the magna first as the memory fit on the shell gives a good amount of flexibility. I actually molded a pair yesterday for a dude that is 105mm wide.
gungonThanks for the response. I can see why you cringed now. I'm new to an area that has REI, so wasn't really familiar with the store. I know now not to go there lol.

gungonI'm in the market for a new ski boot and have tried on a few wider ski boots. I'm looking at the Atomic Magna Hawx 130 vs Rossi Track 130. The Magna Hawx start at 102, but I measure around a 104. The Tracks are at 104, but I've heard it's better to start at a narrower last and mold it to the wider foot. Does anyone have anyone suggestions?
onenerdykidRemember that listed last width measurements only apply to size 26/26.5 and they get wider as the size increases and narrower as the size decreases.
What size boot are you looking at?
gungon29/29.5
onenerdykidIf your foot is actually 104mm wide at a size 29/29.5 then you are in the absolutely wrong boot to begin with. Hawx Magna in size 29/29.5 is 108mm wide. You will be swimming in that boot if your foot is what you say it is.
gungonSo they actually down sized me to a 27 in the magna hawx and they fit awesome
