Decided to try out some tyrolia attacks this year,. I picked them up from getting mounted and when I got home I noticed that the heal piece doesn't sit directly on the ski. Is this normal to avoid affecting the skis flex? The black base after the silver part isn't touching the ski at all. It looks like there are spacers or built up epoxy where the screws go in.
There should be some contact with the plastic on the ski itself on that rear piece and it’s not designed to float. Common to Attacks if the hole drilled is not deep enough or when the tech uses a Phillips rather than Posi 2 drive bit and can’t get enough torque on the screw head to get the support flush. What you are seeing around the hole is the dried glue used to seal the hole.
If the shop isn’t too far away, get them to re-do them. They will take screws out by hand, clean up dry glue residue, new glue in all holes, then hand tighten with the proper Posi bit starting with the back two holes first. Find it’s easier to get flat doing the back ones first.
Wanted to mention as others have said, that it will not be dangerous to ski these and more cosmetic than anything but can be easily fixed when you/shop gets the chance.
With the glue sealing off the holes they will be fine until you get them re-glued and tightened down further if it bugs you.
