Replying to Using PB&J’s in Aspen?
Last year I chucked my older setups and got the PB&J’s, which are great for where I live (VA/WV). I didn’t get to head out west last year, but got a wide variety of snow conditions at Snowshoe over a couple months. Used the skis from typical conditions on up to about 7” of fresh untracked. I have been mulling over the purchase of either the Wildcat 108 or Deathwish to round out the quiver, but now I’m wondering if the PB&J’s would be fine for my trip to Aspen in February.
I’m on the lighter/smaller side at 5’8 and 150lbs riding on the 182’s. Typically I’m in the trees on every run, and the PB&J’s impressed me from day 1 (previous setups were Chronics and ‘08 Gotamas). I know the PB&J’s aren’t great in deep conditions, but I’m also cursed with deep/fresh conditions when I travel west. So my question is...is it worth grabbing the Wildcat 108’s or Deathwishes for my west trip(s) or is the PB&J fine outside of a big storm?
