Core shot fix help

First run ever on my brand new qst 118s. hit a really small rock and fucked these bois up pretty bad. Pretty bummed about salomons durability but i don't really expect them to do anything about it. How would y'all go about fixing this? Deep core shot about 2 inches long, looks like the core started to crack and the sidewall and edge has started to bow out. I figure ptex will probably fall out. thanks!!!

Take them to a good shop, it's not a hard fix but it'd be tough to do yourself without tools. If this came to me, I'd probably charge $50-60. Sucks man, sorry about the new sticks.

^^^^^ what he said. Fixable for sure but unless you already have the tools and supplies, it would be easier to take to a shop. Is the top sheet cracking too or is that just the picture angle?

If core shots are something you anticipate will happen more than a few times, it may be worthwhile to invest in doing the repairs yourself. It's pretty simple for the most part.

Definitely stop skiing on it until you fix it or you will make the problem worse.

Lastly don't blame the brand, shit happens and rock beats plastic.

Topsheet looks like it's cracking along the where the core looks to be cracking. And yeah i'm not new to skiing lol i do most repairs myself but just wanted to get a second opinion. wasn't blaming the brand but i've definitely had much more durable skis lol. Core cracking, base cracking, topsheet cracking, and edge/sidewall blow out from a single small rock isn't very impressive imo.

Its a ski hitting a rock, not brand durability, thats all skier error. This is the bike equivalent of I was just riding along.

Yeah I know you're not new lol. Didn't mean to offend. Since the core shot went all the way through and is cracking all the way to the top sheet, I have no advice. I would be interested to see what others would do for this situation since it is not just a simple core shot repair it seems. Might have to frankenski this bitch

I’d guess epoxy and a base patch would be the best solution...but with that said definitely do some more research before if you plan to do it yourself
