Do you think we have free will

I for one one believe we don't. By large act unconsciously going throughout our day carrying out a wide variety of complex tasks without thinking the slightest. Take the complexities of speech and think what really goes into social interaction. However we have this illusion of free will from our conscious experience, we aware therefore we think we control, but given my example above, how much do you really control? See it's an illusion.

TLDR
I think of ourselves as unconscious automata - reactionary creatures responding to external stimuli. Our self awareness gives us an illusion of free will.

I agree with you, what fascinates me is the response people have to confronting this situation. 8th grade "nihilists" who talk about how nothing matters and trying to sound edgy are just falling into a trap. We act on our previous experiences + values, not on some random free will bullshit, but I do believe you can make your values the best possible for yourself, and those will usually be ones that benefit the whole world. Humans evolved to have empathy for a reason: it benefits us all. Lack of free will does not mean lack of accountability.

You're all pathetic and not deserving of having the freedom of choice. Who wants to bet most looking at this thread will be on their smartphone in a public setting or while driving?

I agree that most people do not deserve freedom of choice. That is a very niezchean concept (master - slave morality)

In that I am almost anti democracy, these fools who have their brains filled with nonsense news and brainwashing from their smartphone are the majority of people who make up the vote. Whereas the educated are heavily outnumbered.

You always have the free will to never speak again... You can quit your job, scream " the world is coming to an end" or even take your own life by starving yourself. Free will can only goes as far as the imagination will let it.
Society is taking away imagination by constant distractions. Quit social media and go outside for a few months, or years and you will find that free will is quite free.
Does it have a point, is the bigger question. The world will be destroyed by our sun, probably vaporized, in a few billion years. No matter what you do, it wont have an impact on the cosmic scale.

I like this idea, we as people are our own biggest barrier to free will, we have been conditioned to follow a path simply because someone says it will benefit you. Go outside and watch some nature and really understand how the world works and go skate.
I feel like the people with the most freewill are those who grew up living on their own, not following the heard of sheep of society and living life.

That last point is straight nihilism.
When I was 12 I read schopenhauers "on the suffering of the world" and the thoughts that non existence is better than existence has permeated my thinking ever since.

We have free will within the constraints of being an organism on this planet in this solar system being the descendants of 4 billion years of natural selection. In a sense your biological purpose is already baked into your existence and most of what causes human beings the most mental anguish is what we do to each other in the modern social order, against a back drop of sedentary living and social isolation- which is really antithetical to how we have been conditioned to exist.

That being said just just look at your dog and try to emulate his or her simple life as best you can.

I am an existentialist nihilist, in fact. I truly believe that there is no point to life, it just occurs.
But, I can appreciate the fact that we justify your meaning through means. Sure, we are only dancing on our graves, but at least enjoy the time by fulfilling it with activities until our demise. Life would be pretty boring if we would only contemplate the way we would die.
When I have to interact with people that believe they are higher beings, it helps me to tell them that in the end, we will both be eaten by the same worms after death. People, as like shitty bosses.

We are governed by the laws of physics, biology and other scientific rules. Given that all our actions are governed by so many deciding factors, sometimes it is hard to see that we have any real freedom of movement as an extension to this concrete base of reality.
