The original straight ski. That is a weird ski but it is what we had back in the 80's and early 90's. Havent tried skiing on a straight ski in quite sometime, need to pull them down from the attic and give them a whirl this season I guess.

I ride surface outsiders lol. I saw Meeks riding them at Brighton years ago and bought a pair to try them out. They’re weird as fuck. 112mm wide and 179cm but they’re so rockered that only about 80cm of the ski actually makes contact with the snow. They’re stiff as fuck but the shape allows you to butter like nothing.
I have a pair of spatulas and actually pretty fun but trippy at times. Too lazy to take pics of mine but below you can see reverse side cut ,reverse camber.

For a couple seasons I rode a pair of Liberty Mutants. Similar in concept to the spatulas- reverse sidecut with a waist of 149mm and all the rocker. Only came in 192 so I saved them for the really deep days. Ended up selling them to a friend but still have some 194 genomes that crush, even though they’re only 141mm underfoot

I put so many days on mine....holy shit so much fun in the park and pow. Anything in-between was horrifying...which was a combo of missing 6 inches of edge on both skis and the contact length being the size of snowblades.
Fun fact....sent the 75 footer at Northstar my freshman year on them. Fucking horrifying. It was pretty funny watching some pro snerberder throwing trips off it and I shat myself throwing a tweeked safety.
But on the topic of straight skis....so much fun. Funniest run of my life was on some straights.
Ski team gaper day....first run on a borrowed pair of straights and apperantly they had rotten bindings. Didn't know....hit a cat track off of West face KT and landed on the upside of a mogul....felt like my bindings were on 2. Tomahawked/slid a solid 150 yards.
Best part was that I was wearing a beer bandolier so I sprayed a solid 15 PBR's down KT which people were gladly grabbing lolol. Rolled to the lift in front of the whole ski team with no beer and bloody as hell from snowburn. Good day

I was given a pair after I bought some all mountains a few years ago. Shop owner (family friend) had discounted them down to basically nothing and just let me have them. I put on some shit rental bindings I got for free and my mom still uses them to this day.
LukeTheWaffleI remember one szn in Europe and holy these were the *shit* for all the jerries

Lib tech skis with magne-traction have weird wavy edges but you can’t really notice it when you’re skiing honestly
I agree, I ride some pbr wreckreates and I don't really notice the magne-traction. Haven't found a situation where I found it works better or worse than regular edges. Although, when I swap between park or pow skis it does take me a run or two to get the feel for the edges again because they are different.
Honestly the bbr was a good ski. I only had it for one full season but they had a great balance between powder/crud and all mountain groomer ski. I felt the ski was marketed as a general purpose ski, so many Jerry's use it, I saw 6 last season

DIRTYBUBBLEJust bought another pair for the season.
I have never seen an official review of them but literally every single Internet post I have seen about them says they're fucking amazing. I'm sold. I'm gonna put a review on NS when I get them.
