Ditching the 2 party system won't change much, but its a start. Up in Canada, its kinda fucked because we have 1 right wingish party (2nd one is practically irrelevant, RIP Mad Max), and 3 left wingish parties. In this coming election, all the conservatives will vote for the CPC, and the leftish votes will be split between 3 parties. It would be better if there were 2 more conservative parties to balance it out, the CPC is gonna (unfortunately) win. While having more than 2 parties does mean things like happen, I believe that we should have the right to vote for exactly who we want, instead of voting for someone we don't really like, just to prevent someone worse from being elected. If your beliefs match up with a 3d party candidate, vote for them. #vermin2020

- free $1000/month for everyone out of thin air.

- compulsory gun confiscations.

- compulsory taxation for other peoples healthcare

- 70+% tax rate for wealthy people and corporations.

- reparations for black people.

- elimination of the electoral college system

- open borders

- actually dismantling our border infrastructure.

- anti vorter ID laws

- lowering the voting age so that emotionally undeveloped and intelectually compromised high schoolers can vote.

- anti hamburger...

Also, "Trump is the worst amirite?" is part of the party platform. All they talk about during the debates is Trump rather than ideas or policies that will get anything tangible done.

This is very much true. The democrats know they are screwed and their animated corpse Biden is going to get stomped. This Ukraine thing is their last hail mary pass that will either have some teeth and get them leverage or blow up in their face. I read the transcript this morning and it does seem odd on his insistence of Biden's son' investigation and the withdrawal of Foreign aid but I dont think its enough to really get him. That and the democrats have cried wolf so many times these last 4 years it really loses any credibility they have in a serious investigation.

That means this is put together by the trustworthy people within Trump's administration. You only need to read the CAUTION on the first page of the memo to understand this.

2. Trump had withheld the aid prior to this phone call. Therefore, the statement by Zelenskyy involving Javelins followed by Trump literally saying "I would like you to do us a favor though..." is akin to a smoking gun. There would be no need to bring up a favor before addressing that kind of request.

3. Trump had no legal right to withhold the aid without the consent of Congress given that it was part of the Congressional appropriations. So again, why withhold it? His reasons have changed.

4. There is zero reason for Rudy Giuliani, the POTUS' personal attorney, to be engaging with a foreign head of state regarding an investigation of a US citizen, let alone a political opponent. There's ZERO excuse for this. If Trump truly wanted a proper investigation (which he is legally allowed to do, no matter how stupid it would be), he would go through official governmental channels.

5.It's clear that Giuliani had already been in contact with Zelenskyy for unknown reasons. Again, why? He is not a US governmental official.

Dustin.I agree man, the government as a whole hasn't done a thing for the last 3 years because of all this divide....however as a libertarian I guess this is great. I would just like them to get us out of Afghanistan and then do nothing. Let local governments fix their local problems.

I would really like to pull out of the Middle East all together. We’ve been over there way too long. But I get that just straight pull out would just fuck up all the effort we put into the area.

Barring any opinions on the content of the phone calls (which is worth some attention for sure), I don't think this server story is relevant. It's a media ploy to compare him to Hillary's extremely illegal and deliberate mishandling of classified information.

Hillary was "given shit" because she had someone install a server at her home and put classified information on it on purpose such that she could do work at home. That is not the same as this Trump example, as he's (and I say he but it's people who work there and click and manage the network) utilizing systems designed for this storage at the White House from what I can gather. It's like putting your milk in your beer fridge, maybe unusual to some but not illegal or honestly worth more than a shrug of the shoulders if you actually know how it works day to day. Hillary infuriated those of us who worked with classified information every day, because had I done that with the information I work with....I would no longer fly fighters, have a job, and if the information was of the highest classifications I think the Air Force would have put in tremendous effort to send me to prison for at least a year. That behavior is borderline treasonous because you KNOW that moving that information to a place where someone uncleared can access it is practically as good as posting it on Facebook and tagging your favorite Chinese government cyber employee. It was a blatant act and she obviously wasn't worried about ever feeling the repercussions, because time in prison isn't worth it to any sane person so that you can diddle on your email at home.

One of the problems with leaving the Middle East entirely is that we ruined a natural balance of power by invading Iraq in 2003, forcing us to sustain that balance ourselves. Bush let the moral cause of dethroning a monster like Saddam get in the way of US grand strategy. My personal opinion is that he was caught up in the momentum of 9/11 and ridding the world of evil, verse focusing pragmatically on how fighting evil in the short term would affect the masses in the long term. Before 2003, Iran and Iraq maintained the gridlock in the Middle East and all the US had to do to thrive was mail someone a box of AK's occasionally.

Wow, we are really going down the rabbit hole in this thread, but I have today off and there isn't any snow to stare at yet so here we are.

Hillary illegally keeping classified info and SAPs on her personal server while every single email was forwarded to the chinese government is not even close to Trump keeping records of his conversations in a whitehouse SCIF.

The shit that was on Hillarys server was so incredibly top secret and classified, the House Intel Committee had to receive special clearances to actually conduct their investigation and they still never got all the info.

It's not "illegal" for regular citizens but I believe it is for governmental employees/officials per Executive Order 13526

Sec. 1.7. Classification Prohibitions and Limitations. (a) In no case shall information be classified, continue to be maintained as classified, or fail to be declassified in order to: (1) conceal violations of law, inefficiency, or administrative error; (2) prevent embarrassment to a person, organization, or agency; (3) restrain competition; or (4) prevent or delay the release of information that does not require protection in the interest of the national security.

Is it comparable in terms of potential damage if that server was hacked? Well, yeah. If not worse.

It is the most tightly controlled of at least four different computer systems used by the National Security Council staff, they said, and contains the most precious of American secrets: U.S. covert actions in other countries and counterintelligence probes aimed at finding spies within.

That being said, it's not likely to be hacked given this kind of security.

The problem is, why the fuck would these things ever belong on that server? Unless he's actively having chats with other heads of state where he is divulging classified information there's zero reason for those documents to EVER end up on that server.

The current WH excuse of doing since 2017 due to other transcript leaks is piss-poor. These chats he's having are unlikely to have any top secret information divulged given that the majority of these are listened into by administration staff, WH officials, etc.
