Are 175cm ish skis too big for a manlet like me?

I am very short, about 162 cm (5'4) and 115 lbs. I have some 164 devastators and I like them but sometimes they just feel too short and not wide enough for pow days. Last year I borrowed some old 178 moment night trains and I didn't notice the length too much and I really enjoyed them. This year I saw some 176 rossi black ops for cheap ($370) and I'm pretty confident that I'll have fun on them but if you think its just stupid of me to ski a ski that big, talk me out of it because I still have time to return them and get a different pair. Keep in mind I do want a ski on the hefty side but finding a twin tip, pow ski at a decent price in the 165-170 range is slim pickings.

If you’re still growing it’s probably not a bad buy. If you’re done growing it’s probably at little long.

If you didn't feel like the night trains were too big then rock 'em.

The only person who needs to be happy with the length of your skis is you.

Sadly I think I'm done growing. I'm not too concerned about them being too agile because I always got the devastators that I think are a blast for throwing fast spins and messing around on.

almost all ski manufacturers measure the entirety of the ski to get the length, but the tips and tails aren't always on contact with the snow. i bet you can rock 175cm skis but they'd have to be rockered (you can find sick rockered park skis). for instance, you skied on some night trains in 178cm, preettyy sure those are twin rockered. if anything buying slightly longer skis will help you progress in skiing because you'll be forced to acutely pay more attention to your line choices and you'll develop more fortitude in leg strength

When I was 5'4ish I was skiing 176 and it felt great. I would say go for it, get them!

yeah go for it man. length recommendations are just guidelines to start with and how you ski is just as important

if your 160 something devs felt short and the 170 somethings felt good, it's that simple!

So if I am understanding correctly you already decided and bought the skis before you made this post.
Probably mount them close to center and they will ski short.

Yeah good call, if you’re worried about too much length, mounting closer to center is a serious get out of jail free card

I'm 5'2" and rock 172cm ARV 106 for my everything stick. Get the longer skis you'll learn to love em.

skis got way too short for a while and with center mounting (or close to it) you can ride a much longer ski than the current 'conventional wisdom' would suggest. I'm a bit taller than you (5'6") but i ride 175-185 for park riding and my pow skis are all in the 187-194cm range
