It is imperative that we as people come together to work on social issues that effect us all on a daily basis. To come together we must be able understand eachother’s individual experiences and how it affects us today.
To me, I assume around 90% of NSers live or have lived a privileged life. Privelaged as in never had to worry about their next meal, where they would have to sleep for the night, etc.
regardless of where you come from we all have moments in life that may be a struggle, may be tedious, overwhelming or just flat out hard to get a grasp.
I grew up up on an Indian reservation. Albeit I have seen way worse here and in other places. I’d say I’m pretty privileged for an American Indian, but in the general society i grew up in what would be considered an average class or “middle class” home. I have seen things 90% of you could never fathom exists.

I want to know more about Your hard times in life and how it affects you. Even if it’s just a breakup, like I said its all in an effort to better understand eachother.
All I’d say is keep an open mind and don’t call out people who may want to share details they usually wouldn’t share. Also you don’t need to feel like you need to tell your whole life story if you just say sum like “bad breakup” that’s understandable

My wife thinks I am an irresponsible father. She doesn't want to let me go out for a stroll with my daughter. Says some kind of bullshit about her mother's instincts. Crap. I work hard, earn for a living, give her presents. And she thinks it's natural! Though many men of my age have already messed up with alcohol or even drug problems. Her attitude's pissing me off!

A lot of things, sort of a accumulation of issues and things. Lots of bad luck and lots of heartbreak.
Mainly A TBI skiing almost 8 years ago that went untreated due to lack of resources and knowledge at the time. It all of a sudden came back strong in the form of anxiety, manic depression episodes, panic attacks, and other issues. Migraines come and go but they arent as frequent as they used too thank god.
Its the the main reason shit hit the fan for me in life but its a major contributor. I just wish it didnt ruin the relationships i had. My ex GF told me to get fucked which is understandable but damn thats a deep wound to have though.
Basically my anxiety, I'm shy as fuck and really do poor socializing which leads me to think the people I'm around dont want me there. I stress about a lot of stuff and it leads me to be pissed or really sad depending on what I'm worried about, and sometimes I like being alone but lately it's really been hitting me hard. So far my trio cure is close friends, weed and especially skiing to help keep my mind off all the bad I think about all the time.
I’m starting to get concerned at how much of a loner I tend to be. I would say that I have had no real friends for a few years now aside from seeing guys from high school once a year, however I’m just pursuing the things I like solo and really doing all right. Can’t help but feeling like me being who I am will lead to a bleak and sad next couple of decades though.
To put it another way I feel like I could end up spoiling some decent luck in life over a simple personal issue/quirk.
One thing I've learned is everyone has their struggles. Even the most perfect families have some seriously fucked up skeletons they keep hidden. There will always be someone with a shittier life than you, so I say to folks pitying themselves, quit lamenting and move on with your life. Shit happens. Life goes on. Cry me a fucking river.
Oh and people can be some wicked sort of fucked up and do some seriously evil things. Just when I think people can't be worse, I am proved wrong again.

So I can't rely on skiing anymore, at least not for a while. And weed has lost almost all of its luster for me.

Damn dude sorry about the knee, and yeah haha weed still is one of my favorite things to use as a chill pill, it once promoted my anxiety but that was during a high stress period of my life worrying if I'd be a bum or move west to be a ski bum. Now it helps me chill out over adult type stuff, rather use it than alcohol.

Keep at it homie! Sounds like you are looking positive and that is where it starts. Skiing will be back soon and you will be working on trying to stomp a new trick.
I suffer from ADHD. Been that way since I was a little kid. Got worse through high school even though I got straight A's. Started college and started having anxiety attacks and chronic depression. Almost flunked out my first year at Uni. I frequently had suicidal thoughts. I was reading on reddit one day and came across a thread about adults living with ADHD and that's when it clicked and I decided to get help. Two years later I graduated with honors from uni and have a job working as an electrical engineer at a major aerospace company. It took me a long time to realize what I needed and to accept that I needed help managing my condition but it was probably the most pivotal decision I have made in my life. If you have a mental health issue, dont fuck with it, get the help you need!
I tried to quit smoking weed in o8 and got so depressed the plan was to hike to this half frozen lake, jump in and die. Halfway there was sitting next to this big rock and saw this pica dwelling. He had thus great view and some herbs stacked by the entrance and thought fuck it so went home and got stoned.i. 2012 I tried quitting again and my doc prescribed prozac and it made it so easy to quit. Got off it 6 months later and haven't smoked weed since but am going to start up when I'm in my eighties. So anyone trying to quit weed might try an anti depressant for a bit.
Crohn’s disease and mental problems led to two faced friends trying to make me kill myself. This led to mental breakdowns with bad consequences.
I escaped their brainwashing but lost 70 pages worth of ideas and lyrics but luckily those weren’t all of them or even the refined ideas.
Now I finally got through all of this shit and had the best grades I’ve had since freshman year last semester. I just got a paid internship this week as well.
Weed and skiing are still the best remedies. None of the meds or therapy helped.
I had to piss with a real persistent boner this morning, like god damn I can't last like that with a girl but when nature called this morning my body gave er the ol' middle finger

My wife is bipolar as all hell and yells constantly but I put her name on the deed to my house years ago so now we are trying to out-miserable each other. We are both losing. I love this house but I no longer believe true love exists.
I used to be super social now I am not and sometimes it concerns me. I tend to do things alone, with the girlfriend or our dogs. I got out of the partying scene and seems like everyone around me is still stuck in it. Sometimes its tough not having a super solid friend base anymore due to paths friends chose that I didn't follow.

Kinda same, like my usual version of socializing with friends is sometimes partying and skiing, otherwise I dont do jack shit with people, kinda sucks a lot but sometimes doing things on my own is nice. Kinda getting sick of it though, need to find a lady but also dont want the stress that can come with it, neverending shit cycle.

First year of college hit and I couldn't figure out how to build that structure or stick to it. I still did okay because I wanted to do well so I had some motivation.. but those little (but important) things that I had no desire to do, I didn't and it caught up with me.
ADHD is sort of unique in that the symptoms/behaviors aren't super noticeable at the time that you have them nor are they particularly distressing(like with an episode of depression, 9/10 times you know or feel the symptoms directly of it)... It's the subsequent stress, anxiety or depression that hits and then you realize it after the fact. If that makes sense? And it's super easy to fall into the revolving door of treating the symptoms and not the actual issue(ADHD) and you just go in circles getting no where.

For real it's weird all the ways its fucked with my life that I didnt know. There were so many things that i thought everybody dealt with which I. Fact nobody else did. When I first started treatment I was prescribed meds for ADHD and therapy twice a month and it made all the difference in the world. The biggest factor in getting it dealt with was that I was diagnosed as a child but I never did badly enough to warrant treatment. When I got older and into less structured environments is when the problems arise. It took me the better part if 10 years to figure it out and it ducked up my life in a big way. I didnt realize until after that I was emotionally stunted.

I let one of them into my document of ideas that was 70 pages long and he stole it instead of wanting to collaborate. I was fooled by his mirage of being a “creative” when in fact he’s never done anything original.
I know it’s not as serious as any of what I just read but none of my friends like do do what I do. I like to ski and golf. I have one friend that holds but we always end up arguing when we play. I have one friend that skis but she lives half an hour away from me and I don’t have my license to go to her house. It feels like I have to chose between what I want to do and what my friends want to do on a daily basis
I've had some sort of social anxiety and performance anxiety if that's what it's called in the past few years. I didn't really know what anxiety was, but now it explains a lot of things. My girlfriend has some, and it caused a lot of stress and misunderstanding, and still does. I thought I was a loner for a while, but now I'm more social than ever and I like it, but I know that I'm somewhere in the middle and more of an introvert. I tend to get attached to things way too much if I think about them too much, so I just try to stay occupied, but relax and have some rest at the same time. I dropped of University 3 times in 3 years, and the only thing that was really going good was skiing, and I thought it was the only thing that I was good at. Now I realize more and more that I'm a person, and that I can do whatever. What works for me is to have a balance, but it's hard sometimes, so I just need to keep track on what my goals are, but not too much, so my ego won't take over, if that makes any sense

You're not taking meds for it? Or did I assume that wrong?

Be careful man. Understandable not be able to find relief and I totally support weed as adjunctive therapy, but don't stop taking your meds. Most research is poor quality and limited however none of it has shown improvements in inflammation scores, just improvement in quality of life scales. A retrospective study also showed cannabis use as being a risk factor for surgery; my guess is folks stop taking their meds because pain is controlled unaware the inflammation is still ongoing.
Theory says cannabis should work for both pain and inflammation in bowel disease but unfortunately the jury is out mostly thanks to good old uncle sam. I'm not sure how bad you have it, but if pain and diarrhea are your only problems, there's much worse than that if you stop taking your meds, including death.
FYI which you may or may not know, you can use cannabis with any of your IBD meds- no concern there.
