Why does everybody hate Billie Eilish

So since Billie Eilish is becoming kind of a hit now, I decided to listen to her. I wouldn't listen to her music that much, but it's not like I HATE it. I'm okay with it, in fact, I like her song "you should see me in a crown" very much. She reminds me a lot of Bishop Briggs and other alternative artists. After talking to quite a bit of people, I found out that a lot of people have a really strong opinion on her, saying stuff like "she's a piece of shit!" or "she's fucked in the head!". And after talking to these people and why they hate her I always just get two answers: "she's weird" or "I don't like her style".

I don't see what's wrong with being weird, and I think her style is pretty cool. So what are your opinions on her?

i appreciate the fact that she doesn't give a shit what people think about her style and wears whatever she wants. I think some of the stuff she wears is kinda sus but other than that I dig it.

Her new album is good, i liked her EP she released 2 years ago better. I dont want to be you anymore is my favorite song by her.

My favorite song off her new album is either bad guy or all the good girls go to hell.

Going to see her in june in toronto, pretty stoked !

I think a major part of it is people think she's an industry plant. A relatively young musician/artist rockets onto the scene, gets tons of funding from labels and marketing spending. I think she played the algorithm pretty well, whether she meant to or not, got massive, and now has a huge following.

People are probably jealous that this 17 year old girl and her brother are making pretty righteous pop music with an edge. Wasn't the biggest fan, but her new album is damn solid for what it is

I like her music, very cool stuff, and if she's actually writing most of what she records I wouldn't be hesitant to call it borderline prodigious. She's kind of a jackass in interviews, though, and everyone calling her a prodigy is clearly getting to her head. I don't care, I just like the music and don't watch the interviews

i really just feel like Billie English isn't being real to herself, and she is fake af trying to be edgey. i honestly tried to give Billie English a fair shot and listen to a variety of her songs, but all of them just fall flat. like not for nothing but she is trying way to hard to be something that she is not, and what she is trying to do has already been done via Lorde, Kreyshawn, Lil Debbie, Adele, etc.

the problem with Billie English is that she is a fake and a fraud. the music he does is straight up boring, she tries to do some type of spken-word shit and it just does not work. again, artists like adele, chvrches, lordes, kreshwan, lil debbie, ect have done the EXACT SAME THING. what Billy English is doing is NOT CUTTING EDGE. she is merly ripping off everyone she can

Because she focuses on being as shocking as possible while not having any substance. Her level is about on par with mumble rappers. She employs the same tricks as Tyler the Creator. She comes off as a studio produced product.

Her voice sounds like she smoke 10 packs of cigarettes a day, her lyrics are pure retard and were written by a five year old, and her beats sound like they were made by someone with downs syndrome.
