Pre ski good luck rituals?

It’s become a huge joke and now kinda silly good luck ritual with my buddy that when we reach the mtn to jokingly ask...should we just go tubing instead?

anyone else have things they do for good luck or just because it’s habbit?

Not pre ski, but I absolutely always take a groomer run for my first lap and rail some super g carves under the lift. Gets the confidence going. I might not be the greatest freestyle skier but I can drag some knuckles

nothing worse than sorta having to shit before you go skiing, but not really being able to.

usually when I get to the top of the first chair i reach down, grab both my noses, bend em up, and let them slap back down on the snow

I don't really think anything special. I do do that thing where you kick your tails into the ground and throw the snow up from your tips (whether or not there's snow on them anyway). Idk gives me a good feel for the skis on my footsies.


I nearly always wear some sort of the same variation of the base layers depending on weather. Always ensure I eat complex carbs and some sort of protein for breakfast. Coffee or Redbull.

Always sober to start, not necessarily not hungover though. Sue me.

Before I start the day:
Eat something decent for breakfast
Good dump

Starting the day:
Nose press in the liftline and grab both noses

First run:
Either a cliff or groomers, there is no in between

Before I drop something gnarly or hit a big kicker
Whack the grips of my poles together, reminds me of a good bench press feeling

Ski like a maniac all day, if I don't feel exhausted by the end, it means either I didnt ski hard enough or I didnt ski long enough

Funny you say that because back in high school I had an all black diesel smart car.. shit was g my skis fit but they had to rest on dash lol & I was definitely still screaming out the window
