Beginner jump trouble

Hi, I can ski pretty good Cuz Ive been skiing since 2004 and im 18 now, but in park, im beginner. I live in czech rep. And my closest park is this, others are like 80 kilometers away. There is one small jump (photo and video) , the gap between the kicker and landing is so small and landing is steep af. At this time i have no confidence to hit bigger jumps (second jump on photo), so i just have to spin my 180s on this, usually i send it too big and land on Noses and get wrecked, so i jumped at small speed and reduced the final kick of the jump (u can see on vid) but i dont think thats the way to get better. I did 360s a lot on my backyard jump but i dont feel to sending it on this park jump.
Did u have same problem at ur local park or am i just too comfortable ?

Doesn't pop just like get you more air? Wouldn't it make him come down harder? I don't really know anything tho

More air in general but he won't jump that far. At least that is the idea. Going a little slower but pop harder.

Popping keeps you level in the air. Dont pop and the jump throws you backwards

This is probably a problem for OP as he is landing on his noses on a 180 which is similar to landing backseat on a straight air.

Another important thing while spinning is to look around the horizon and don’t look down until you spot your landing

Forward shin pressure, pop hard to stay level, look around the horizon while spinning until you spot your landing and you should be good on any jump.

A little, but proper pop gets you to also land more proper so you can stomp it. Definitely important for 360s, I crashlanded backseat so many times getting those I never fell on any trick more. At least they weren't bad falls unlike trying sitcorks

That looking around the horizon may be the thing. I remember that the landing was covered by ice and it was sketchy, so i need to check whole jump where i could land. Next time i will bring bucket of salt. :D

Doesn’t look like you even tried to spin more like just twisted your legs a little extra from a straight air as if you were trying to go from a 540 to 720.

Willing to bring a salt bucket to the hill but not willing to have more than 2 posts before asking for advice on NS.... and then disappear forever cool story bruh you hit the smallest jump ever but you have zero street cred. You need to pay your dues

yeah, i was a noob a long time ago and i appreciated normal people helping me learn. that's one of the valuable aspects of this site, and the dude even posted a video of himself, which is the best way to get specific helpful advice

To the OP. Another thing aside from a good pop- I noticed is you dropped your eyes which is why you are landing on your tips. Your body always follows your eyes and you need to keep them level on the horizon to spin on axis. I crashed 360's for a long time until a coach at CUFST drilled it into me and was landing them the next time on the hill. I cant recommend stair jumps enough here and you can do it at home. Simply take 10 min each day and jump up 3-4 stairs at a time while keeping your eyes level and you will train your peripheral vision to spot your landing. I cant tell you how many times I jumped up the stairs at the CU rec center.

Your setup should be:

Stack your weight evenly over your boots in the run up.
Engage your core (flex your abs to keep your whole body together while you rotate)
Pop off the lip and set your rotation, keep your eyes level on the horizon
Land and absorb the impact while using your peripheral vision to spot the landing.
Afterbang...

So ..
1. If i want some advice i will always come back for advices written by advanced skiers
2.The weight of any advice is big for me cuz the skiers can see the trouble on vid and describe it right here for me.
3. If i want smth from someone for free it is etiquette to at least read his opinion
4. Newbie doesnt mean ignorant
