Park noob help!

metal fittings for the bottom so when you hit rails it wont scratch the base.

you should wax them every 3 ski days or so ideally. this helps them stay fast and consistent with speeds, but also maintains them, and helps your turns and small movements

if you ski a lot i def recommend getting a ski wax iron, a scraper, and some wax because it's easy and waaay cheaper than having the shop do it all the time. if you don't ski that much, whatever, just have a shop wax them every now and then if you don't feel like bothering with it on your own

if you're skiing rails you probably will want to leave your edges alone because rails are going to damage them anyway (so you're not going to have much super-sharp edge performance to be upkeeping anyway) and having newly sharpened edges on rails can be unforgiving if you're not ready for it

if you get holes in the bases of your skis, especially if they make it to the core, get a stick of p-tex, melt a little into the hole, and scrape it down so that it's flush with the rest of the base. this and hot waxing is cheap and easy and can be googled or youtubed but feel free to ask more questions here and/or search this site for threads on it all (google site:newschoolers.com + search terms)

You will eventually get edge cracks on your skis from hitting rails. Fixing them by filing them down and smoothing them out will prevent the edges from getting ripped out as quickly

Buy EPOXY

Dont touch rails or boxes to preserve your edges.
You dont need any special maintenance to ride park for the first time.

Just have a helmet, they are required from most parks

either detune or dont touch your edges if you plan on hitting rails, wax at recommended intervals, and try not to land super hard on rails

It’s not park specific but I second the p-tex recommendation. The candles are super easy to use, and only cost a couple bucks.
