What’s up guys, I’m 5”9 and about 170 pounds I’m just getting into park but main use would be for all mountain, either way though I like to do tricks throughout the slopes. Deciding between 170’s and 178’s. Any advice? Thanks
178 fer sher
you're about 175 cm tall, and gennerally if youre a type 3 skier its always good to go a little taller than u are. Also assuming you're getting a rockered ski, which, they prolly are, but that's just more reason to go longer.
I'm just short of 168 cm tall and I ride 176cm skis just fine. Henrik Harlaut is about 170 ish cm tall and he claims to never ski something shorter than 180.
Keep in mind tho its all personal preference, you should determine what you prefer on your own, maybe demo days?
178, especially if youre mounting at or near center, they will ride way shorter than the number on the topsheet says. im just over 6'0" and 186 on a camber/early rise center mount is like spot on for me. with that said, short skis are fun too. i rode 179 outsiders for a while which were stupid fun and hold up as long as you stay balanced. on the other end i have a friend whos about your height who's on 192 catamarans this lear lmao.
a lot of factors go into it, rockered skis typically you want to go long, super stiff skis you can go a little short. if you want a tighter radius, go short, if you like to go fast and straight go long
