I saw this and realized its my last year to compete.
I'm obviously not going to win the main part, but they are offering a $1000 prize to whoever has the most creative edit. The thing is I only have one weekend left to film it. If I use your idea and win, i'll give you $150. no bullshit.

Need ideas for a creative ski edit
Wear a costume... I expect to be paid in full 5 business days after the comp is over
What I learned from watching a few edits is to not add just the skiing, but add your facial expressions after you land something, or just some funny random clips that will add up to the edit. Make sure the intro is engaging, like maybe you dropping into a cliff, and falling into really deep pow and the camera getting all covered up.
Something that seems pretty popular right now is having the text fade into orange (i don't know if you know what i mean, but i reccomend watching Sammy C's Twenty Four, cool graphics, nice music and good clips). Music is also a big thing. Make sure you add something that fits the scene. Here is a list of genres and what type of skiing they go well with:
Cliff dropping: heavy metal, preferable doom (good bands would be The Sword or Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, which are used commonly in famous ski movies).
Powder: Usually reggae or something calm
Park: Some good rap. Make sure it's not mainstream but a good and original song

Maybe jib something random for the whole edit like that travelling circus episode for thanksgiving. They just did tricks with a frozen turkey and it was pretty funny and creative

I think the point of a creative ski edit is to be creative... asking others to come up with an idea for you is the opposite of creative, and if we have a creative idea why wouldn’t we just do it ourselves
