I got fitted for boots today (didn't buy for money reasons) and the ones I pretty much decided on were Tecnica Mach 1 MV 120s. The main thing I was focused on was eliminating my ability to lift my heel (want to learn nosebutters) while leaving ample space for my toes. Both I'm not sure were quite remedied by the boot but it fit like a glove and had minimal heel lift. Since I couldn't buy, I rented Technica Mach 1 boots in the same size a much higher volume (only model available) and by the end of the day, my toes hurt from being compressed in the front of the boot. My foot measures about 27.5 or so, and I do NOT want to size up to a 28, because the old boots I had were way too big.
I feel kind of frustrated with this whole fitting process because I feel like there is no boot that is long enough while also being low volume enough to keep my foot locked the fuck in for MAXIMUM control and response. Maybe my size 28 Hawx Magna 110s really aren't too big but I get a lot of heel lift in them and have to tighten them a lot. I would love to be able to just heat mold the Tecnicas to get rid of the toe scrunching issue, but they aren't heat moldable, as far as the bootfitter told me. What should I do?
inb4 "get full tilts". I tried Descendants on at a shop and when I tightened them to snug-ness, they restricted circulation in my foot.
