Weird base burn/fuzzy stuff on bases of brand new Deathwishes?

Not to worry, you’re bases aren’t self destructing. You sometimes get fuzzy areas like that after base grinds which they would have done at the factory to flatten and structure the base. Can sometimes show itself after some of the wax is skied off.

Skiing on them will eventually smooth it but you should be waxing again anyway before that. Just run a stiff brass brush over the ski before you wax/get it waxed again. This will remove and smooth off the fuzz. Point it out to the shop if you don’t do your own waxing.

The important issue is how do you like the skis??? Great skis.

As far as the skis go - I absolutely love them. Took some getting used to at first since I’m used to a 17m turning radius, so with a 25 m radius I feel like I’m absolutely nuking down every run. They feel like they can handle any type of condition though which is great.

You probably ARE nuking down each run now! Moments are so stable it feels like you’re going slower than you are.

That's my guess based on what everyone said here.

I’d say just the final grind wasn’t as fine as it should have been and if it were done by automated feeder that also hot waxes the skis right after, this may have been hidden under that wax. So, not a perfect grind but one that could be perfect with about a minute of work with a brass brush before the next wax.

Find new skis from any manufacture are hit and miss with edge and base tunes so I always give them a once over before skiing.
