How tf do telemark skies work

Lately I’ve been seeing a bunch of teles on the mountain and in videos and I would think when they hit jumps their skies would like fly down or something. I know nothing about telemarking and couldn’t find anything on google. Someone plz educate me

Telemark bindings have a spring that prevents them from doing what you said.

Yeah, most heavier duty bindings are fine, the really light, more cross country type on the other hand...

The plural of ski is skis. Not Skies. EX: My skis shot up to the skies after I landed flat and double ejected.
