Inside of foot hurts

skied 3 long days this weekend, and by the end of the 1st day the inside of my one foot hurt real bad... there was a bone kinda sticking out, seemingly out of nowhere. Right below the ball of my ankle on the inside, then forward about an inch. And also on the outside of my oppo foot, same thing. More towards the middle of the foot and low towards the bottom of my foot but still on the side.
Anyone ever have this before? And what can the local boot fitter do?

I'd start there. If your bones are shifting around like you say the support from a footbed sounds like it would help.

Look up the navicular and see if that’s the bone you are talking about. Had the same problem and in general my bone sticks out due to not enough support in general. If so often that is due to not enough support as others have said. If you have access to a good bootfitter in your area I would researching different footbed options (custom or premolded with even a few mods) and finding the best for you

I had it with my knackered old boots, my foot kind of collapsed so that lots of the weight was loaded on those bones, painful and made them swell and stick out. New boots helped but it was the footbeds that stop it happening again.

I just got a free foot exam. Here is what I learned.




Most of my pressure is put onto the heel and Anterior Transverse Arch. The Lateral and Medial were not being used fully. I just need to strengthen these tendons.

There aren't too many great exercises for the feet, but rolling a golf ball under your foot is just about your best bet. Also orthotics are a good idea (arch support / foot insoles)
