So last season, I went to the slopes every day that I could. About 3 weeks on the west coast during the winter, which wasn't an issue since there was no powder. When I was skiing during the Spring I was going to mainly Kilington. I occasionally went to other ski resorts such as Sunday River and Mt. Snow. However, if there was any powder anywhere I would sink through the powder. I tried to lean back on my skis really hard, but would still sink. It got to the point where the little bit of powder in the park was enough to give me a lot of trouble for me.
I am 5 foot 8 was about 135 lbs last season. I rode armada arv 86s through most of the season but they started delaming, So I copped a pair of Head Framewalls, which I really enjoy if it isn't a powder day.
I just want any advice on staying afloat on pow days. If its because my skis aren't fat enough would appreciate confirmation that it is the reason I am struggling.

I keep sinking on pow days
Yeah bro, you nailed it. Skis are too narrow. Gonna be near impossible to feel like you are floating with those. Going faster will give you more float but I understand thats not always an option if the hills not too steep.
Something around 105 underfoot should help ya.
you might be on stuff that's too flat to really get going, and fatter skis will def help
but people have been skiing powder for decades and decades. good technique and PRACTICE are invaluable. turning in powder is super different from the way you'd turn in the park and on piste for the most part. watch a lot of good powder skiing and try to learn some of their technique for next time. and go fast

Instead of getting fatter skis you can try losing some weight
Tie helium balloons to yourself for that extra float

Yes... I was also at Sunday River when they got that huge dump of snow... and I was at Kirkwood when they got that huge dump of snow... All very miserable days
I can honestly enjoy a pow day on my 84mm underfoot Head Caddys. I find them better for tight tree skiing where my jj's would be more of a pain to control, but technique can make all the difference.

I've always found my biggest issue to be speed. Skiing pow has been compared to surfing and that's true in my experience. Something something physics allows you to float on the snow if you're going faster.

Like surfing in the sense that you're floating, but turning on snow is way different than a wave, and its quieter on snow.
Mounting further back, getting skis with more rocker, or getting skis with more width will help. Don't know much about you skiing ability but you could you online about how to ski pow.
I wouldnt be able to live withmyself if i bought skis that werent full bore park skis. If the park skis are wide enough not to sink in powder thats a bonus.
