rlewis206I got a pair of faction prodigy 2.0’s, and the bindings are the look pivot 12 dual WTR (walk to ride) so my question is, do you think these will be good for an above average, semi-aggressive park skier? My main concern is that they will be too much for what I actually need because they are capable of taking backcountry boots/gripwalk soles. Should I sell them and get a pair of 18’s?
_newschooler_720don’t get the 18’s unless you actually need them, unless you plan on having a din above 14 you shouldn’t need them

mat_espoI'm not so sure if I agree with this, the 18s are made a lot more durable (full metal toe piece) which is definitely useful. I've broken a few pairs of 14s both heel and toe pieces but so far have had no trouble with my 18s and I set my din at 12 on em. There's no rule that you should be above a certain din number you just want to be in the middle of the spring's compression so around 11-15 is prime real estate.
SofaKingSicki hear where you're coming from but it's not quite that simple IMO. i don't use DINs that only the 18s could provide but ive owned my current pair of pivots for 15 years and theyre still kickin. my point being that top notch construction has its benefits
_newschooler_720I see what you mean, but OP wasn’t asking about the durability, he was wondering if the binding would be to bulky and the pivot 18 would be bulkier than the 12 and the 12 or 14 would probably be a better option for him.
