Because they're fun and challenging. I found one in the bf's garage and was entertained for a good 20 minutes. Like the article said its good for hand- eye coordination

its an advanced ball in a cup and its pretty fun, once you get the basics down you can start to play around with different combos. tanner put in work too! one day I was like oh cool he is trying and the next he was better than me haha
