Looks like a fun hobby to get into and you get some really cool footage. The stuff they did at super unknown this year with them was pretty cool. I know i would fuck it up though, wonder how long it takes to get decent at it..

Yup. I've been building gas powered models for 10ish years, and raced drones for a few. Tons of fun, but I got out of the drone stuff because I didn't enjoy all the computer stuff still involved. And it was getting pretty expensive for a kid. If you are getting started, it is a good idea to buy a small ready to fly one that you can fly around the house, and build a larger one for freestyle/racing. Building can have a steeper learning curve, but at the end of the day, it means that you will be able to repair your drone, which ypu will definetly be doing.
