Things I dislike about being a tall skier
Skis arent long enough
You will never be able to flip as easily as small skiers
Impact is much harder to deal with due to extra joint strain and weight and it causes more injuries
You need more powder for it to be a DEEP day
Harder to reach down for grabs because your legs are so long
Less naturally flexible than shorter people

Things I like about being a tall skier:
My daffies
My schlong(when erect)
Greater leverage for butters
Everyone can see from the lift when I'm in my skisuit blasting along
I can dangle my skis below the footrest

yungmcqueenTo be honest, I think playing the tall card is just an excuse for people who are tall and suck at skiing. Bobby, Russ, Geopper, AHall, Mcrae, and more dudes are all big boys and have no problem learning rotations or creating new ones


I agree it's mostly used as an excuse, but those guys are all ripped. Compare them to the tiny shredders they have to put in so much more work to be able to spin the same amount.

Over 6'5 I would guess there are a bunch of problems arriving with back issues / knee issues etc. I'm 6'2 and have never noticed anything myself, but then again I'm fairly fit, and havent had any major injuries.

6’3” 190lbs.

Pros:
you can lay out a single flip better. You can stall your backh flips for longer.
Bitches love tall guys.
Easy to butter cuz of leverage.
When you have good form, you can destroy crud off piste like you’re axel lund svindal(horrible spelling but Norwegian downhill skier).
On tree jibs I have more tail to make contact.

Cons: grabbing the nose of your ski is a hell of a task if you have skis over 190
Skis in narrower waists aren’t long enough.
All mountain twins are hard to find long enough.
No one understands why I want such long skis.
Every time I land on short skis I punch front.
Harder to have good style on rails.
My skis don’t fit in tight chutes with abrupt transitions. They’re always stabbing into the rocks on the side or I’m bouncing on the tip and tail like a trampoline.
Once I hit like 160lbs and 6foot I started injuring myself way more. It’s simple physics for those who can’t relate. f=ma. I have a lot more mass which means more force and which sometimes when skiing can give you a greater acceleration.

I think in freeride/freestyle skiing it’s defintely a disadvantage. If you’re a big guy you have to ski like it you don’t reallt get the option. In life, it’s kinda nice tho. im not super tall so clothes haven’t been much of an issue for me in the right brands and also I don’t wanma look like henrik.

6"4". Two biggest problems:
1: Jackets and hoodies are NEVER long enough.
2. Narrow skis are NEVER long enough.

6'2 rails and boxes are too small and hoodies are never long enough.

Yes. 6'5" 220 lb. I have located the ski I am desperately after that is big enough and am praying it doesn't sell until I can spare the 300 bucks. Hopefully within a week its mine.

6'5 210 reporting for duty. We do have a HUGE update in the big guy hi-performance ski market, Fischer now makes the Ranger 102 FR in a 191CM Length!!!!!! Absolute gamechanger if you want a better all-mountain charger with a traditional mount point + some playability. You can really drive it, and it still handles hits like a champ. I'm on them this season and it's been amazing thus far.

-cons
for my build/size pants , especially base layers are either too tight or too long/short , same for shell jackets but not as bad, need that xl -tall, “relaxed fit” in sizing
-gotta tilt my head to avoid lift bar
-have had to really focus on staying on axis for spins
-tons of skis in the size I want , but would like to see more in the 188/192
-lotta body to throw around and control on jumps and rails , easy to over tilt on big cliff drops

pros
-crud busting , power
-first to know when it snows
-DLD
-first to be seen by bartender

All my Tall rider friends are like this, yammering on about how things are sooo much more difficult bcs they're tall.

"Oh you can flip bcs your center of gravity blah blah blah"... Why don't they just go apple picking instead if its such a big deal

6ft 9in of pure pain

Pros;
- Finding people in lift lines
- not breathing in the BO that comes with the warm spring days
- Tons of speed
- Ski suits look sick
- charge through crud and chopped up

Cons;
- Get hurt super easily, I have had bad knees for nearly 10 years and what sucks is that I can't do any sendy shit (I am 20) because I won't be able to walk the next day or miss a whole week in bed because my back seized for an unknown reason.
- Head getting smashed by chairlift bar
- people in lift lines asking for me to find their friend
- drops look smaller on videos because of my height
- Pick up way too much speed way to easily


Also, dudes your skis the 193's will work I am resorting to trying to find skis that are 186cm and up now because finidng skis that I like that are big are next to impossible. Then when it comes to finding skis that fit I need bindings with a high din, and then I need stiff boots all the more expensive options. So when short people say "wow, I would love to be your height" respond with "yeah but your wallet couldn't handle it".

6'1 dont quite qualify. I found with more height I could absolutely charge through shitty snow. in all honesty I havent noticed a difference from before I grew. landing flat hurts alot more tho
