Edge cracks on narrow skis vs. wide skis

Here come the downvotes...

Do edges crack easier on narrower-waisted skis? Or is it the same for all Ski widths? This probably doesn’t make much sense, but fundamentally (not realistically) it seems like it’d be 10x easier to crack edges on something that’s like 50 mm underfoot than something that’s the width of a snowboard. Any thoughts?

Depends entirely on the thickness of the edge and how hard you slam them on hard surfaces. I've had way more edge cracks on my Snowboard compared to my skis.

I have always been wondering the same thing. One year I skied park only on 112 underfoot powder skis and there were no edge cracks at all.
However this year I skied park on 84 underfoot skis and they got a ton of cracks.

I guess more width means more weight dispersal? So edges aren't taking as much of an impact maybe? Just a thought.

I think narrower skis and full rocker skis are easier to core shot because of weight distribution

I would think narrower be easier because when you land on a rail the edge would take more of impact if you are already have your foot it the gripping position.
