I ride Lakais myself but used to ride Nike and Vans. Most Vans feel better plus at least it’s a skateboard company you are supporting but Nikes usually hold up better. You can get Vans on sale for like half the price of Nike’s though so it doesn’t matter. No reason to pay full price on shoes to skate in, they don’t last.

just go to a skate shop and buy shoes they have on sale. dont support either brand

I agree. Try Lakais, Emerica, and eS. They make shoes very similar to what you posted. If you don’t care about supporting smaller brands then maybe check out adidas as well.

emericas are the best skate shoes I've ever owned I'll go for them every single time over any other brand. fit and board control are 10/10 and they last longer than lakai/Huf in my experience. the only shoes that are better to skate in are all stars but they wear out in 2 days

The Nike's insole has better cushioning than the one in the Vans (even with their ultracush thing). If you drop big gaps it could make a difference. Otherwise the Vans are cheaper, so I'd probably get them. They will be ruined either way.

Go to your local thrift store and buy some lightly used chuck taylors. Best skate shoe out, and the only thing your supporting is a clean environment.

Also I use to work at Vans, it's not as chill as many portray. It a multi-million dollar corporation just like Nike or Adidas.

If you want a skate shoe that holds up and has really good board feel, try the Adidas adi-ease premiere. I know Adidas is corporate and all but i feel like they make some of the best skate shoes on the market right now.
