Hello! I'm looking for some advice on buying my first skis. I primarily ski in Tahoe/Sierras. 5'9" and 160-165lb.
I’m still learning but I think I’d consider myself around intermediate level. Very comfortable on blues and have just started on some easy blacks. I prefer to ski on the faster side with longer turns, rather than doing a lot of shorter turns. I expect I’ll generally stay on groomed runs but I imagine as I get better I’ll want to start venturing more off piste.
Based on some online research, I’m considering the following for a single pair of 'jack of all trades' skis. I would definitely want skis to grow into, ability wise. I've already invested in a pair of boots that I've been using with rental skis this season.
Nordica Enforcer 93 (or 100?)
Head Kore 93
Head Monster 88
Rossignol Experience 88
Atomic Vantage 90
Line Sick Day 88
K2 Pinnacle 95
Salomon QST 99
Volkl Kendo
In an ideal world I’d be able to demo all of them, but there seem to be so many options and it would be great to get some help narrowing down. I’d also like to take advantage of some post-season sales, and I doubt I’ll have a chance to try them all before it's over (either the sales or the season). Budget is ~$600-800, but somewhat flexible. Thanks!
