HELP - Snapped pivots on first use

So here's the low down. I bought new skis this fall and had then mounted at a local place. Finally got to using them as they are wider skis and got some snow here. Go to kick in and its a struggle. Get one in and the other won't go. Try to force it and end up bending and snapping the arm on the rear binding. After taking the still good one off, I decided to try and put it back on. Bent that one too. My almost brand new(used once) pivot 18's are shot. It looked like when trying to click in, they were stretching the rear piece to the limit. MY QUESTION IS CAN THEY MOUNTED TO CLOSE THAT YOUR NOT WILL CATCH THE ARM AND SNAP IT? I bought them a couple years back so I believe the warranty on them are gone. I have another pair of fks 18 and haven't had issues for the five years I've had them. Thoughts anyone?

You shouldn't have gotten frustrated and try to force them in if you knew they were adjusted too tight.

You should've just made the arms longer with a screwdriver thats what that feature is made for

Either a) the shop messed up your mount or b) you fucked up and tried way too hard to step into the binding when it wasnt aligned properly or something. Whichever it is, I would go back to the shop and see what they can do. If you did it yourself or a buddy did it, you might be SOL.

I'm pretty sure they mounted them to close. I have another pair of the same bindings so I compared the difference in lengths and its noticibly shorter on the ones I broke, yet I had then mounted with my new boots that are a longer bsl. Granted I did try to force it hard, but you would expect them to pop right in. I'm going to the shop today, hope I can get something figured out.

Prob mounted to close. Could be the recall but idk. You gave em the boots when you had them mounted right.

Yeah they had my boots to mount them. I dropped them off last Monday and they were going to contact Look and see if they could get parts. My last strategy to see if they are mounted to close is printing off the mounting diagrams and checking the holes seeing they kept saying they are mounted right and won't get me new bindings.
